PURPOSE

Dental adhesive for light- and chemically cured composite materials "Belabond" (adhesive selfetching
system) (hereinafter – adhesive self-etching system "Belabond") is used to ensure adhesion and
tight edge fit of direct restorations: light-cured composite materials to hard tissues (enamel, dentine) of
the tooth, as well as composite materials, ceramics and metal, amalgam; indirect restorations (in
combination with materials for fixation): veneers, crowns, bridges, inlays and metal structures, as well as
when restoring the stump of the tooth and fixing pins.
FEATURES
Adhesive self-etching system "Belabond" is a set of the following components: primer and adhesive,
providing better compatibility with various surfaces based on chemical and mechanical adhesion, as well
as tight edge fit.
The primer contains multifunctional methacrylate oligomers, hydrophilic adhesive phosphoruscontaining
oligoestermethacrylates and acid monomers resistant to hydrolysis, stabilizers, solvents that
ensure wettability of the surface of hard tooth tissues and deeper penetration into the dentine tubules.
Reactive groups of adhesive monomers interact with calcium hydroxyapatite ions of tooth tissues and
amino groups of collagen fibers, which provides additional bond strength due to chemical bonding with
wet dentin and enamel.
The adhesive contains multifunctional methacrylate oligomers (Bis-GMA, UDMA, TEGDMA, HEMA,
etc.), 15% composition of modified fillers of barium borosilicate glass and colloidal silicon dioxide,
polymerization activators, stabilizers, solvents. Fine fillers contribute to the formation of thin film with
single application of the adhesive, which provides high level of protection against micro-flows and
reduces the risk of postoperative sensitivity. The adhesive has the effect of fluoride release.
Adhesive self-etching system "Belabond" has chemical affinity with composite light- or double-cured
materials, spreads in thin layer over the treated surface, forming film of ≈ 5 microns and ensuring reliable
connection of tooth tissues with the composite. Before curing, adhesive self-etching system "Belabond"
has low hydrogen index (pH), which ensures effective etching of the enamel. After curing, the pH
becomes neutral, which ensures exceptional compatibility with almost all types of composites, which
eliminates the need to use any auxiliary materials.
Adhesive self-etching system "Belabond" is applicable to ensure adhesion of both direct and indirect
(in combination with light- or double-cured materials) restorations.
